Doozer.

Hey guys! When I was a little girl I LOVED Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock and ever since Addie was born she reminded me of a character from that show.

[The Doozer]

do you see the resemblance? haha I love this little babe!

Snuggly Warm in a Cold World.

Well folks Addie is 1.5 months old and we have been trying to get her out and about. I don't want to keep her cooped up inside all day everyday. I want her to see all the colors....of the wind. Sometimes I'm not too excited about taking Addie on adventures (she can get a little screamy) but I endure.
She had her first trip to the canyon on Monday- we met my side of the family for a picnic in provo canyon. I loved it!! It was so nice to be out of the house and enjoy nature, it was on the chilly side though so Addie stayed bundled in her little cocoon (car seat). Since it was so cold and windy/rainy we didn't get any fun pictures but I snapped this one speedy quick before we drove back home.

[Snuggly Warm]

Side note- Today I went solo with this crazy babe when I drove to my parents house today. Somehow a 30 minute drive turned into a 10 minute-SCREAM-get off next exit-calm down-start driving-whimper...whimper SCREAM-pull of next exit-feed my child in the back seat of car and feel like a weirdy. This was the drive home, I was shaking from all the craziness. Ahh motherhood.

Teeny Tiny Toes.

This will be quick, I don't know how much time I have before miss queeny of hammerenville wakes up.

One of my FAVORITE things is kissing addie's tiny baby feet. They are so cute I can't handle it!! Here are some pictures of little baby toes.

[Tiny Toes]

So cute right?! Well I'm going to try and clean the kingdom before I am summoned by the queen.
Hope you all have a happy Monday!!

Baby Hammeren's story.

Forrest and I have been parents for two weeks now- It really feels like 2 MONTHS but thats just me- I'm not a BIG fan of detailed labor stories so I'm not going to give you every gory detail. I know, you are so disappointed right?! Here is baby's arrival in a nutshell.

At 6:00 pm on August 5 we drove to the hospital. I had a scheduled induction because little baby just didn't want to come and I was one week overdue. (just for the record, I worked out my entire pregnancy. We also walked hills and tried all the little tricks but no luck. My body just likes to suffer apparently.)

Getting ready to enter Hotel la Hospital
BUZZ...bUzzz...buzz buzz- "How can I help you?" Forrest- "Yes, can I get a room for two and a half with a king size bed and a large window with a view?" The nurse just laughed and let us in. We walk in and they knew who we were and they showed us to our room. we were pretty much the only ones there! It was crazy.

Our accommodations! The couch folds out into a bed for Forrest. (He slept in it for like 1 hour or so.) Also no window. (not that I minded)

The plan was for me to be given some medicine to help progress labor and they give it to me every 4 hours all night long and then in the morning they were going to give me pitocin. So Forrest and I were prepared for a long night. We turned on the Olympics sat back and relaxed. I was given my FIRST IV ever. Not too fun...also I think the nurse thought I was a weirdy because I was bracing myself for the needle. I really liked hearing little baby's heart beat, it was comforting. (although it got annoying at times, it got loud!) But she had a nice steady heart beat the whole time! Well it turns out that my body only needed one dose of the meds! (woohoo!) The nurse was super surprised (as was I)  The contractions were getting pretty intense so they put something magical in my IV and I fell asleep. One hour later I woke up and it was GO time! They decided to let my body do its thing for a bit. Epidural please! ahhh, heaven!!!! I was able to just relax and watch captain america. I tried to sleep but nurses kept coming in. Forrest was passed out on the couch. Well, awhile later it was time to have that baby! They woke Forrest up and boy was he out of it! He kept asking me the same questions over and over so he could keep people updated....but I was kinda busy. I know why they call it Labor~ and boy! they were NOT kidding when they said your body is doomed when you have your first baby. Lucky for me my baby had a perfectly round head so that made thing easier... She wasn't tiny either-when the doctor held her up I was Shocked at how big she really was. Three hours later and 23 pounds lighter we had a beautiful baby girl. I will never forget how amazing it was to see my perfect baby girl, after all that work it paid off. Forrest and I were shocked to find out it was a baby girl, we were so sure it was a boy. For the record, I HIGHLY recommend waiting to find out what the gender is! It was so exciting for us, and it gave me some added motivation. When I heard her little cry and saw her tiny but not so tiny body I couldn't believe it! FLOOD of emotion. Her precious little cry touched my heart, I felt so much love for this little baby I thought my heart was going to explode. The fact that my epidural had worn off by this time didn't really  bother me. (believe me I minded later!!) When they put her in my arms the first thing I thought of was SHEESH this girl is hefty!! And I can't believe this is MY baby. Forrest and I were so incredibly happy it was insane. Her little eyes would just stare at mine, it was so crazy that she knew who I was. I loved when she would be screaming and they hand her to me and she would stop. (oh don't worry, she screamed at me too when she was hungry)

She didn't have a bruise on her forehead I don't know why it looks like she does.
Darling baby girl didn't have a name for a couple days- then finally we named her. I present to you all

Adelaide Lee Hammeren- "Addie"

She has her daddy's nose for sure! She also looks a lot like I did when I was a new born. Except I had really straight hair and Addie has a little wave in hers. Isn't she so pretty!!! Apparently the hospital had a sudden rush of patients at about midnight and all the babies were in the NICU. So the nurses LOVED holding our hefty healthy little girl. They also loved to snuggle her when she would go to the nursery.

Our little family has grown my one and she is the sweetest little spirit!! Although I feel extremely overwhelmed and have no idea what to do with this little baby Forrest and I are so happy (even though I can get pretty cranky when I have to wake up during all hours of the night.) She is the BEST baby ever, we feel so incredibly blessed. Thank you Addie for being so perfect!!! WE LOVE YOU.

I did it! I faced one of my fears, and it was a BIG one. I just took things as they came and didn't think to much about it. Everything turned out great and I didn't need a C section! Honestly the worst part is the recovery...by far!!

Hope that wasn't too gory for you all and here is a current picture of our precious baby girl. It was all worth it!

She is getting SO big SO fast!!

Peace out!

Guess what, I am 1 week overdue. So the Doctor has decided to take matters into his own hands because apparently the baby doesn't want to come on its own. So Forrest and I are headed to hotel Hospital and will be there until this baby is born. (lets hope that is tonight) I just wanted to let you all know that I'm peacing out and might not get around to posting for a bit. As of right now I'm pretty chill-we will see how long that lasts. I leave you with my very last baby bump picture! (let me tell you, this last week has been THE most difficult time in my pregnancy. Walking, sitting, standing, cleaning....yea it took my like 500 years longer to accomplish all of those things. Also, it is not a "baby bump" It looks like I swallowed a watermelon!) Wish us luck! And lets hope this won't be a 36 hour ordeal.

P.S.  Yes my hands and feet are a little swollen but hey, I'm lugging around 8.5 pounds of baby everywhere. Also, last chance to guess if we are having a boy or a girl.

Happy Sunday!

40 weeks and counting...ACHK!

Well I am past 40 weeks and I really want to meet this baby! I'm ready to dress it in all its cute little clothes. I'm SO excited to find out if this is going to be a mini little me or a little tiny Forrest. It is going to be so much fun getting to know this sweet little spirit and let me tell you this baby has got some spirit. I thought at 40 + weeks the baby doesn't move as much. FALSE! All day long- hiccup hiccup, PUNCH! Stretch. Attack Ribs with tiny baby feet- that is just part of it. This baby will be a handful, YAY!

[40 weeks]

Ok, so this isn't me, but it is what I feel like. It is HOT ALL the TIME! I basically am heat miser.

Got some extra va in my Voom.

Well I made it! I'm in the dreaded 9 months pregnant club, and I feel great! I actually don't feel too bad at all. During these months I have learned to adjust my level of pain scale and what is pain or just uncomfortable. I discovered that after I have been uncomfortable for so long it just becomes a part of my life and I tend to forget about it-what is the use of complaining about it right? (however I find that occasionally groaning like a hungry wild bear into my pillow while laying limp on the bed/couch seems to subdue the pain a bit) but once I'm relieved of something uncomfortable...I feel like ahhhhhhh. I'm free. I've been blessed with an easy pregnancy (I'm guessing, I've never done this before) and I still work out in the mornings. (and by work out I mean playing dance central 2 on the xbox kinect or pretending I'm some kind of Olympic hero whilst jogging on my elliptical)

But some days are better then others. I love when I'm having a pleasant conversation with my sweet Forrest and mid conversation I turn into the wicked witch of the west and seek my evil flying monkeys on him. (poor guy, he doesn't stand a chance against those monkeys!) Somedays I feel fabulous (like all the happy tan and creepishly thin maternity models who gained no weight what so ever except for their bellies) And other days I feel not so fabulous  (like a pot bellied pig with droopy eyes that just wants to lay in the shade all day!) But man is my belly big! I mean WHOW, I don't think I look to bad from the front but then I turn to the side and HELLO...so thats why you don't swallow watermelon seeds. My bad. Oh, but the best is when the baby decides to get into some sort of skiwhampy position which equals a lopsided belly for me. I try to gently nudge smoosh the baby to a different position but that is a no go because it just moves right back into place. oh well, this little baby's contract is up in about a week or two so it better start packing. I feel kinda bad for the poor little thing, one moment it is basically floating free nice and warm. Safe from this cold cruel world and then without warning...not so warm and free anymore. (I do not envy that journey, getting squished for hours and then poked and prodded. Good luck little babe.) Anyway, all is well here and baby should be here...soon. (cross my fingers)

Terrified!

I just wanted to say that we watched 4 women- yeah 4 of them give birth to alien like creatures in our "prep" class. Can I just say something....I have to WHAT NOW? Why the heck would they make us watch something so terrifying?!? and why do they show us once its too late? there is no turning back now! You know that feeling when you are about to do something that scares you and you just gotta close your eyes, yelp, and do it? Well I was completely happy and willing to do that. but no. They had to educate me and say things like- since this is your first baby, your body is doomed! (they didn't actually say this, but that is how it translated in my head) I just want them to knock me out and poof! Baby! (like when they pulled out my wisdom teeth, drugs-sleep-done) and to top it all off apparently this kid decided to be a fatty with a big head. YAY! Labor has always freaked my out-I am not one who thinks it is a beautiful thing. (The fact that life was created inside my body blows my mind!) But Labor....ew.  with all of that said: I'm about to go through a freak ton of pain and face one of my biggest fears (aside from anything to do with birds) so you better believe I'm going to be crazy protective and everyone is just going to have to deal. Because I went through -censored- to bring that baby here and you better believe what I say goes.  My baby, My rules. hmm? what? what about the father of this child you ask? Better listen to him too because I tell him the rules and he enforces them. So if you don't what him to go all crazy Krav Maga on your face- don't mess with our baby!

Sneak Peek-a-Boo Baby!

First off, I'm sorry for not keeping up on the belly posts. My tummy is getting big! And it is only going to get bigger. Our doctor said that our little froggers is going to be an 8 pounder! What a little chunk!

[6 Months]

[7 Months]

So, yesterday was a super exciting day for us! We had a 3D ultrasound done, I'm 28 weeks along and apparently that is prime time for a 3D ultrasound. Forrest and I had so much fun getting a little sneak peek of our baby! Our ultrasound tech was so amazing, and she kept saying how cute and sweet our little baby is. Little baby didn't want us to see its face at first so we walked a couple labs around the office and tried to move little baby around. I was getting a nervous, but then little baby looked right up at the camera and stayed in perfect position!

[So happy]

We just got out of our appointment.  Yay for  crazy bright sunshine!

I'm not really a fan of posting pictures of Ultrasounds because the babies look like little aliens to other people, but I caved. I picked out some of my favorites to share with you.  If you don't want to see them, look away I won't be offended. but you better believe you are NOT allowed to look away from pictures of our little baby once it is born. NOT allowed. So the 3D gives you an idea of what baby is going to look like but it isn't exact. Who do you think baby looks like more?

[Baby Forrest]

[Our Baby Froggers]

Puckered little lips!

Chubby little cheeks.

I hope those pictures didn't freak you out, but I think they are so so so so cute!!  I can't tell you how excited I am to snuggle this precious little baby and kiss those chubby chubby cheeks! I think Froggers has daddy's nose.

Any opinions on who Froggers looks like?

(coming soon: Forrest's Birthday post. )

I'm in love with our little froggers, I love when it kicks and I can see my tummy actually MOVE! Now if it could keep it up so daddy can see too!!
